Association of Professionals in Tourism (APT)

Association of Professionals in Tourism (APT) was established in 2005 and is a non-government, non-profitable, apolitical organization, committed to the welfare of qualified Tourism Professionals in India.

APT members are mainly professionals from Tour Companies, Travel Agencies, Hotels & Resorts, Airlines, OTA’s and other Tourism related Sectors those who are actively engaged in the promotion of Tourism. A professional qualification is a must for a person to become the member of Association of Professionals in Tourism (APT).

Association of Professionals in Tourism (APT) is governed by an Executive Committee. The Executive Committee comprises of known Professional personalities in the Tourism trade.

Maldives is well known for its natural beauty and tourist attractions; hence tourism is the largest economic industry in Maldives.

Founded in October 2014 ATA Maldives represents the interests of travel agencies and tour operators in Maldives. Main purpose of ATA Maldives is to serve the tourism industry and to ensure a better future for travel agents in Maldives and to strengthen the travel industry.

Association of Tourism Trade Organizations (ATTOI)
Association of Tourism Trade Organizations is a non-government, non-profitable, apolitical organization, committed to promote tourism in various sectors and also to generate interest for a healthy business relationship and harmony among parties in the trade. 
The Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India was established in 2003, and registered under the Charitable Trust Act of Kerala.
 Protecting the natural and cultural environment and responsible travel are key concerns for ATTOI and its members. Each potential member’s sustainable tourism credentials are examined before they are admitted as members. This is to ensure sustainability and to ascertain that local culture and environment are treated with utmost care and respect. ATTOI members recognize that the destinations where they provide holidays are the lifeblood of the industry and that they need to protect them with responsible travel and a sustainable tourism policy. 
 ATTOI is the first tourism industry association to incorporate into its business charter a commitment to Responsible Travel and Sustainable Tourism. 
  ATTOI is an Association of individuals and independent companies, each with its own distinctive style and field of operation. As such, each of these individuals and independent companies have their own ways and means of fulfilling their responsibilities by publicizing good practice to encourage and spread Responsible Tourism.

Confederation of Accredited Tour Operators (India)
Confederation of Accredited Tour Operators is an umbrella body of Govt. of Kerala-approved tour operators. CATO was founded in 2012 by the Government of Kerala and a group of quality-conscious tour operators. This initiative was part of a mission to find credible partners in catering hospitality services par excellence and thereby promoting tourism in Kerala.
Over the years, the organisation has gathered wide acceptance from domestic as well as international tourism fraternities. Sri Lanka Inbound Tour Operators Association
The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) was formed by Destination Management Companies who have grouped together and created an association in order to lobby on behalf of DMC’s who receive foreign tourists to Sri Lanka. 

Other members include foreign Tour Operators and Charter Airlines. SLAITO is the most influential Association guiding and advising those policy makers in positioning Sri Lanka at the forefront of the global tourism arena. 

One voice can scarcely be heard, but when there are many voices, they will be heard and become a force to be reckoned with.

The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL)
With a vision for the advancement of the local tourism industry, the Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka - then known as The Ceylon Tourist Hotels Association- held its inaugural meeting on the 9th of March 1965. Having transpired a whole year prior to the establishment of the Ceylon Tourist Board, the event is celebrated as a significant milestone in the evolvement of the modern tourism industry in Sri Lanka.
Mr. N.K Choksy, Q.C was officially elected as the first president of the association and following a year of operation THASL recorded a total of 720 graded rooms with a total bed capacity of 1,200.
And in 1973 inspired by the rapid development of the tourism industry and growth in membership, THASL joined hands with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce to offer their members a more comprehensive service provision.
On the 11th of August 2011, the association was registered as a company by guarantee under the Companies Act of 2007 with its current name, THE HOTELS ASSOCIATION OF SRI LANKA.
The association has resiliently prevailed in their mission to uplift the local tourism industry in the midst of insurgencies, natural disasters, epidemics and a three-decade long civil war. Today THASL is the apex body of the entire hotel industry in the country. It's membership presently stands at 200 hotels and resorts located in different parts of the country, comprising reputed International hotel brands, leading local hotel chains, proprietorships and stand-alone properties ranging from Colombo 5* city hotels to all other star categories including top end boutique properties.
