The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) has launched its 2026 voting period, enabling tourism professionals and travelers to support their preferred hospitality and travel enterprises throughout South Asia. Operating since 2016, this platform recognizes excellence across the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh.
The organization celebrates outstanding achievements by resorts, hotels, safari vessels, airlines, travel agencies, tourism brands, and industry professionals contributing to the region's tourism sector. This marks SATA's tenth anniversary year of operations.
For 2026, the awards introduced two fresh individual categories: Outstanding Chef and Outstanding Young Hotelier (Under 40 Years), broadening recognition of emerging hospitality talent.
Major regional tourism boards endorse SATA, including the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Visit Maldives Corporation, and Nepal Tourism Board, among others. Nearly one thousand nominations were received from leading brands across the region.
Public voting remains available until July 10, 2026, through the official portal. The awards ceremony will occur in the Maldives during September 2026, bringing together regional hospitality and tourism leadership.
