The South Asian Travel Awards held its ninth edition at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, celebrating tourism excellence across the region. The event recognized 53 Gold Award winners and 113 Silver Award winners spanning six countries: Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh.
The ceremony featured the SATA – Faces of South Asia honorees, recognizing four visionary leaders including Nepal Tourism Board's Ms. Nandini Lahe-Thapa and Sri Lanka's Deshamanya D. Harry S. Jayawardena.
Visitors' Choice Awards highlighted leading destinations: Maldives for adventure, Bhutan for heritage, and Sri Lanka for MICE and wellness tourism.
Notable Gold Award winners included The Ritz-Carlton Maldives (luxury resort), Shangri-La Colombo (luxury hotel), and SriLankan Airlines (international airline). The program recognized exceptional general managers and hospitality leaders across South Asian establishments.
The gala acknowledged major sponsors including the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Honda Marine Maldives, and Velana International Airport, along with hospitality partners from throughout the region.
