The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2025 has launched its nomination process. Since its establishment in 2016, SATA recognizes excellence within South Asia's travel and hospitality sectors, spanning nations including Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and India.
The awards program maintains strong industry credibility through endorsements from 15 international and government organizations. These endorsing bodies represent diverse stakeholder groups across the region, including tourism boards, hotel associations, chambers of commerce, and travel agent networks.
This marks SATA's ninth iteration, with the 2025 ceremony scheduled for Colombo, Sri Lanka. The awards recognize outstanding properties across multiple categories such as Best New Hotel, Leading Riverfront Hotel, Leading Palace Hotel, and Leading Designer Hotel. Past ceremonies have been held in various prestigious South Asian locations including Kathmandu, Bangalore, the Maldives, Mumbai, and Galle.
The event functions as both an awards platform and an industry networking opportunity for regional travel and tourism professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss sector trends.
