The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) will mark its ninth iteration on September 19–20, 2025, hosted at Cinnamon Grand Colombo. Sri Lanka Tourism made this announcement during an August 22 press conference attended by prominent industry figures.
Key attendees included Mr. Buddhika Hewawasam, who chairs both the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and Promotion Bureau, along with leaders from industry associations representing tour operators and hotels. Mr. Ismail Hameed, SATA's president, and vice president Suraj Khan were also present.
During the briefing, Mr. Hewawasam emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and advocated for collaborative efforts among South Asian travel and tourism organizations.
Sri Lanka Tourism serves as the Destination Partner for the 2025 event, while Cinnamon Grand Colombo functions as the Official Host venue. The awards ceremony celebrates accomplishments within South Asia's travel and hospitality sectors.
